Lancaster, Calif.—Officials have changed their tune about a “musical road” in this desert town north of Los Angeles. Last month, Honda installed grooves on Avenue G in Lancaster, Calif., that produced the notes of the “Lone Ranger Theme” when Civic drivers hit them at 55 mph. Motorists flocked to the oddity, but neighbors complained the attraction was driving them crazy. The city eventually paved over it, but received so many calls in support of the road that it reconsidered.
