Crater Lake, Ore. — What a difference a day makes! Weather can really affect a road trip. It rained for the few hours I planned to be at Crater Lake National Park in Oregon this weekend. Most visitors spend just four hours visiting national parks, according to the National Park Service. I was beginning to think that all those photos of the lake being so blue were all a crock. Yesterday, the sun came out, I drove back up the caldera for a second series of photos. Totally worth the trip. — Laurie Borman
