Falmouth, Mass. — It finally happened. The gray, hazy skies gave way to the storms the Northeast has been craving for weeks (they’ve been in official drought status). Good thing the smell of breakfast wafting up from the kitchen of the Palmer House Inn (see previous entry) encouraged me to get out of the king-size canopy bed, because the cool, rainy day definitely was instructing me otherwise.

Breakfast consisted of fresh strawberries and cantaloupe alongside orange French toast and sausage links. There weren’t too many people wandering the sleepy streets of Falmouth on this rainy morning, but I decided to head out anyway for a couple hours before I’d need to catch my ferry ride. I stopped in at the Bellezza Day Spa, who will do an intensive masque hair treatment for a romantic night on the town (among other services provided by their full-service spa). The feeling of complete relaxation came to an abrupt halt though when I realized it was time to drive down to the ferry parking lot, or I’d miss the boat!
